Meet Colin Franes
Colin Franes, born and raised in Ashcroft, trained as a glazier at BCIT after high school. He returned to apprentice at Quality Glass where he received his journeyman ticket. Colin and his wife Faline decided to purchase the business when Colin’s boss and previous Quality Glass & Tire owner decided to sell. It had already been established in the community, and Colin knew the business well, from its administrative workings to its faithful clientele. It made the transition from employee to a business owner in 1999 a relatively smooth one for Colin.
For years now, Colin and his four other technicians have worked well together, and the front desk is in the capable hands of his secretary, Hilda Jones. (“She keeps me in line,” Colin jokes.) Jai Fournier has successfully completed his journeyman apprenticeship through Colin’s mentorship. Colin and his team have been quick to respond to the community’s needs, whether it is for professional window and door supply and replacement, home renovations, a business’s broken window, a flat tire or someone has simply locked themselves out of their car. Colin is proud of his team and how each individual’s skills and personalities complement one another.
Colin and his wife, Faline, are now raising their four children here in Ashcroft. Colin appreciates its relaxed pace and friendly atmosphere, and its size makes it easy to get to know his customers and offer personalized service. Colin’s business is a place where community members and old friends often stop in to say hello.
